It is a great evening to snuggle by the fire, make some popcorn and check out the beautiful fashion and style of some of Hollywood’s most famous celebs while watching the 2013 Golden Globe awards. I do not claim to be a fashion expert by any means, but I can let you in on some of the secrets that Hollywood actresses use to ensure they look fabulous on the red carpet.
Many celebs will freshen up their skin a couple of weeks before a big event by making an appointment for a photofacial, microdermabrasion or light chemical peel. After their skin is exfoliated and looking more even, they will often have an air brush spray tan a few days before an event to ensure their skin appears as flawless as possible.
If you look closely during the awards show, you will see that it is common for actresses who wear low cut dresses to apply a light dusting of body shimmer makeup to their declotte and across their upper cheek bones. This reflects the light and gives the skin some depth and a healthy dewy appearance.
In order to make eyes standout on camera, it is important to apply heavier eye makeup than would be worn for normal daily use. My Hollywood makeup artists friends always remind me to apply heavier eyeliner, darker eyeshadow, and heavy mascara when I am going to have a picture taken because otherwise my eyes will look small and squinty. They also recommend a little bit of shimmer eye shadow along the brow bone for the same reason they recommend body shimmer, it will reflect light and actually make eyes appear larger. I love the ew Estee Lauder Sumtuous Mascara and Estee Lauder and Young Blood eyeshadow.
To get a pouty lip look, apply lipstick normally and then apply a drop of gloss just in the center of the lips. This will give the illusion of a more full lip in the center and will replicate the Hollywood sexy pouty look. My new favorite gloss is a french brand called Longcils Boncza.
Hope you enjoyed watching the fashion and styles as much as I did tonight! This year, I tried to see most of the movies that have been nominated for various awards, and it is always fun to see if the Hollywood Press and Academy agree with my favorites!

I am always looking for new blog topics or interesting products. Send your ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org.
I have been asked if I receive any financial incentive to mention products in my newsletter/blog and the answer is no. I only comment on products that I have used myself or that I recommend to patients because they have unique benefits. However, I am a clinical trainer for both Medicis (Dysport/Restylane) and Allergan (Botox/Juvederm).
